Fuerteventura
The Canary Islands consist of seven islands 62 miles from the north-western coast of Africa, 2,250 miles from Europe (southern Spain): Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura, Lanzarote, Tenerife, La Gomera, La Palma and El Hierro. Each of the Canary Islands has it's own character, landscape and charm, Fuerteventura provides a relaxing and hospitable atmosphere and being the second largest of the Canary Islands, Fuerteventura can offer you all the facilities that you could need including a large number of beaches.
Climate
The Fuerteventura climate is hot virtually throughout the year, making it a great tourist destination and a great place to buy property for sale in the Canary Islands. Due to its location with the high pressire coming from the Azores, the shape of the island and even the sea temperature. On average, the warm temperature of 20.8º C remains constant and offers people a fantastic climate to live in.
Activities
Due to the strong winds in Fuerteventura in certain areas, the conditions are perfect for watersports and provide perfect conditions for sailing, windsurfing and has even been the chosen venue for the professional windsurfing world championship finals. Most of the hotels and resorts offer an extensive range of sporting facilities, from Tennis, squash, bowling, table tennis, minigolf, golf, gymnastics, basketball, football, swimming, sailing, water skiing, surfing and windsurfing to name a few.
Fuerteventura is also a popular destination for fishing although there are some restrictions in place to protect the natural resources of the island. But the two most popular sports remain deep sea diving and windsurfing due to the perfect conditions in Fuerteventura.
